Beneath the waters of the Bezid Reservoir rests the former village of Bözödújfalu. Its 180 homes disappeared under the lake, and the memory of the community still lives on through those who were once forced to leave. This ride blends powerful history with authentic Transylvanian countryside.
Corund is the cultural heart of the Salt Region (Sovidek), renowned for its traditional pottery, crafts, and vibrant local heritage.
Program
10:00 AM departure from the Bezid Dam
Optional visit to the Bözödújfalu Memorial Site
Cycling through: Kőrispatak (optional Straw Hat Museum visit), Etéd, and Énlaka
Picnic break around 12:00–12:30 PM in a scenic rural setting
Continue towards Păuleni and Corund
End of the standard 46 km bike tour
Lunch, local craft shopping, and optional car transfer
Extended Route – 62 km
After the picnic, the longer tour continues from Énlaka:
Climb towards Kalonda Peak for panoramic views
Optional visit to the Fenyőkút peat bog nature reserve
Descent via Pálpataka
Visit to the Csigadomb andesite quarry and traditional salt bath
End of the 62 km tour
